Saint Francis High School is a co-educational Roman Catholic secondary school in Mountain View, California. In 2018, the school implemented a rollout of 1,800 iPads and Brydge keyboards to their students.
Background
- Saint Francis High School was looking for a technology solution that focused on using devices in a way that promoted educational use rather than causing tech support issues.
- Following an evaluation of devices and the ecosystem of services and apps, they decided iPads complemented their existing culture and policies.
- Saint Francis wanted an iPad keyboard solution that held up well under constant use and provided protection to the iPad itself. They decided on the Brydge 9.7 keyboard and OtterBox uniVERSE case.
Solution
- 2018 was the first year Saint Francis issued a personal keyboard to all students. In previous years, they used detachable keyboard stands that were loaned to students when extended typing was required.
- Brydge keyboards were distributed to students who were able to easily attach and connect them to their iPads. The addition of the Brydge keyboard has turned the student iPads into significantly more productive devices.
We chose Brydge over all the other keyboards on the market because it is better. It is cleaner, more elegant, more rugged in appearance and looked like it would hold up better in the hands of students.
